Introduction:

APSOPCA shall conduct inspection and certification of organic & GAP products as per the guidelines of ISO/IEC 17065:2012, National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) and India Good Agricultural Practices (IndG.A.P.) certification scheme. The APSOPCA shall provide the third party organic certification under the NPOP handled by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and IndG.A.P. certification under Quality Council of India (QCI) to the farmers at lesser prices and also promote sustainable & eco-friendly agri-food systems in the state.

Establishment:

The Andhra Pradesh State Organic Products Certification Authority (APSOPCA) was established as per the G.O.Ms.No.7 of Agriculture & Co-operation Department (Agri. I), Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, dated: 23.02.2022 as separate wing of Andhra Pradesh State Seed Certification Authority (APSSCA) under the control of Chairperson, APSSCA and Director & Member Secretary, APSSCA for functioning as independent body.

The APSOPCA was registered under Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001 with the Registration No. 80 of 2022 and started functioning as separate body w.e.f. 01.04.2022.
